GE CFM 56  Engine Fan Blade Spacer cleaned with TRAMOS® AeroTech 2000.

This 2618 Aluminum spacer is coated with 5 coats of Dow Corning® 321 Dry Film Lubricant (Molybdenum Disulfide).  After the part has been in service for about 15,000 hours the spacer is removed from service.  The spacer then needs to be cleaned without any stock loss.

The part is placed into an ultrasonic cleaner filled with TRAMOS AeroTech 2000 heated to 54 C for 3 minutes.   The part is then rinsed in tap water and air dried.  The part was then wiped with a clean white towel.  The towel showed no discoloration from the Molybdenum Disulfide.   The part showed some "in service staining."

TRAMOS AeroTech 2000 is a new aqueous cleaner that is designed for cleaning turbine engine parts and conforms to ARP 1755B.
