Lord 7650
Single-Pack, Moisture-Cure, High Tack, Urethane Adhesive

Typical Application
Lord® 7650 is a single-pack, moisture cure urethane adhesive. Lord 7650 offers very good initial tack and green strength. Lord 7650 adhesive initially works much like a contact adhesive, however as the cure develops, the adhesive becomes permanently crosslinked.

Lord 7650 adhesive adheres very well to open cell polyethylene foam, styrofoam, urethane foams, plastics, fabrics, rubber, and prepared metals.

Applications for which Lord 7650 adhesive can be used include: gaskets, tank lining, automobile interiors, carpeting, construction panels and flooring.

Features and Benefits

Easy to Use - Single component. High initial tack and green strength.

Flexible - Good impact resistance.

Versatile - Bonds a wide variety of substrates. Good chemical and water resistance.

Using Lord 7650 Adhesive
Prior to bonding, parts should be clean, dry and free of oil contamination or foreign particles. A wipe with solvent such as Isopropanol (IPA) or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) is usually sufficient. Abrasion of most substrates is not required; however, adhesion is enhanced when the substrate is mechanically prepared, especially on metal substrates.

Rubber parts should be treated with Lord 7701 surface treatment prior to bonding.

Lord 7650 adhesive can be applied via roller, roll coater, spray, brush or flow coat. After the adhesive is applied, good tack develops in 15 to 30 minutes (after solvent has evaporated), and remains for another 30 minutes. Unlike contact adhesives, adhesive application to one side of the materials being bonded is sufficient.
