Lord 7660
Moisture-Cure, High-Tack, Urethane Adhesive

Typical Applications
Lord® 7660 is a single-component, moisture cure urethane adhesive, which offers very good initial tack and green strength. Lord 7660 adhesive initially works much like a contact adhesive; however, as the moisture cure develops, the adhesive becomes permanently crosslinked.

Lord 7660 adhesive adheres very well to open cell polyethylene foam, styrofoam, urethane foams, plastics, fabrics, rubber, and prepared metals.

Applications for which Lord 7660 adhesive can be used include: gaskets, tank lining, automobile interiors, carpeting, construction panels and flooring.

Features and Benefits

Easy to Use - Single component. High initial tack and green strength.

Flexible - Good impact resistance.

Versatile - Bonds a wide variety of substrates. Good chemical and water resistance.

Using Lord 7660 Adhesive
Prior to bonding, parts should be clean, dry and free of oil contamination or foreign particles. A wipe with solvent such as Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) is usually sufficient. Abrasion of most substrates is not required; however, adhesion is enhanced when the substrate is mechanically prepared, especially on metal substrates.

Rubber parts should be treated with Lord 7701 rubber treatment prior to bonding.

Lord 7660 adhesive can be applied via roller, roll coater, spray, brush or flow coat. After the adhesive is applied, good tack develops in five to 15 minutes (after solvent has evaporated), and remains for another 15 minutes. Unlike contact adhesives, adhesive application to one side of the materials being bonded is sufficient.
